Fukushima Update: Bosses Will Face Court

‘Three former senior Tokyo Electric Power Company executives will face charges in court after they were indicted by an independent citizen panel in Japan, which decided that they had failed to ensure safety at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant that was destroyed by an earthquake and tsunami in 2011. Despite the ruling Tsunehisa Katsumata, who was Chairman of Tepco, and his vice—presidents Sakae Muto and lchiro Takekuro, are unlikely to be convicted as prosecutors have refused to indict them, claiming there was insufficient evidence to do so.’
