The Campaigns AGM – “The Star”, Wenhaston, 16th June, 2014

A the AGM’s well-attended meeting members heard of the year’s hard work raising the public’s awareness of the risk and dangers of nuclear power, especially the possibility of a failure of Sizewell B’s reactor pressure vessel, in the light of the shut down of two similar Belgian reactors, both with deficient vessel strength.. the ONR has failed to take action NOW.
The Treasurer reported that at the year ending 31st May 2014, income was £1805, with expenditure £1,962, leaving a current account bank balance of £1,445. The Chairman emphasised that efforts must be made to improve our financial position, meaning that members and supporters need to increase their donations, as well as paying their subscriptions promptly.
All reports were approved and the present three officers were unanimously re-elected for 2014/2015. A useful and rewarding AGM.
