‘The Guardian 20th March 2013 – a letter from Professor David Elliott of the Open University saying he had been part of one of the teams invited to use the DECC extensive online energy modeling system, the results recently published as a set of 2050 energy Pathways. His team showed clearly that it was possible to meet the UK’s energy needs at reasonable cost with no nuclear power, while reducing emissions below current 2050 targets.

The Daily Telegraph 3d April2013 – Germany reported more electricity produced despite the shutting down of the country’s eight oldest NPSs post-Fukushima (the remaining nine due to be phased out by 2022). The target set by the German government for renewable energy by 2050 is 80%.’
